What is a Laminate?
A laminate is a thin, transparent, plastic sheet that is applied as a coating to printed items. They prevent solid blocks of ink from cracking, as well as offering additional protection against wear and tear, and spills. Laminations can be single or double sided, and are recommended for use on thicker paper stocks and items intended for regular use, such as book covers, postcards, and business cards.

Types of Laminations

A matt lamination protects from sweaty fingers!

A Gloss lamination adds vibrancy to colours.

Soft Touch

A Soft Touch lamination does what it says!

What does self-cover mean?

Self-cover is when the cover of a booklet uses the same paper as the inside pages.

Artwork Queries

What are crop marks?
Crop marks are lines at the corner edges of an image indicating the print area. The area outside of these lines will be cut off during guillotining. Crop marks are also known as cutting marks and tick marks.
However, we do not require their addition to artwork supplied to us.

What is print margin and bleed?
A print margin is th?e margin between text and the edge of the product.
The bleed area is an extra margin outside the product area where images can bleed into so that a clean cut of images can be made at the finishing stage.

How do I use the templates on the product page?
On the product page you have a choice of uploading your own artwork or uploading a template design that you would like us to follow.

This upload feature is necessary for us to effectively process your order.

Choose the template from the library button under the product image, download it for your reference, and use the upload button to send it to us as your choice of artwork design.

The 2nd upload choice is optional if you need to send us a document or image showing an existing product you want us to copy/amend or additional images.
